We do not think that this is a curse. On the contrary! Do you want to face the interesting times of 2008 together with a reliable and competent consulting in combination with a solid technology? Just ask:us... - 2007 - In 2007, we successfully completed the rollout of 1.100 facilities. The WXP Pro standard clients are situated in an area of about 15.000 km2 and now connected to their head office via VPN tunnels. Due to centralized administration mechanisms, as for example automated updates, centralized management of the virus scanners (TrendMicro) and the VPN connections, and thanks to a reliable remote control software (NetViewer), the customer is now able take care of a network that consists of 120 servers and more than 3.000 clients, with only a fistful of employees. Several other projects have also been finished: Update of our Windows XP standard installation framework to Windows PE, together with the implementation of highly automated client re-installation mechanisms that help to make user interactions dispensable. Migration of Exchange Server 2003 to Exchange Server 2007 (CCR, LCR). Merge of two formerly separated domains into one common domain ("domain join"). Extension of our customers' international infrastructure (Europe, Asia, USA, South America, etc.) Legal adaptations of disclaimers, individual signatures, etc. with help of the software product "Exclaimer". Compliance: FDA, ITIL and ISO certifications have been achieved for our customers. Advanced and new partnerships with different companies, for example Microsoft (consulting), Kroll Ontrack (Exchange single mailbox restore), Software One (licensing partner), and DELL (hardware) have set the course for a successful business year 2008. - 2006 - The main focus of this year lies on the completion of the big projects from 2005 and - of course - also on getting ready for the new Microsoft products Windows VISTA, Windows Server 2008, Exchange 2007 as well as the new Office 2007 applications. Improvement of customer support by the implementation of a suitably optimized remote control software and the conclusion of support contracts with our customers. Expansion regarding hardware sales and the on-site support of smaller customers. Completions of most of the bigger projects, and begin of the rollout-planning for several customers. Trainings concerning time management and work organization have been adapted and expanded to big enterprises. - 2005 - In this year, several big projects are launched. As they demand many ask:us resources, the existing ask:us team has to be enlarged: Connection of 1.300 small ecclesiastical institutions to a centralized e-mail and reporting server in a centralized data center; including design, planning, installation and safeguarding of existing and new delivered PCs. Another important aspect is also the security of the existing additional Internet connections. Quality assurance and coaching of a project that merges a holding company and its 30 subsidiaries into one common domain, including qualification and FDA-related validation of affected divisions. Ubiquitous migration of several companies from NT 4.0 to Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP Professional as well as Exchange Server 2003, concerning the the municipal and industrial sector in Germany. At the end of this year, not all projects have been completed. So we are facing another busy year in 2006... - 2004 - In April 2004, ask:us concludes a master agreement with the VDD (“Verband der Diözesen Deutschlands”). This contract allows the VDD and all members of the Catholic Church to benefit from ask:us services unbureaucratically and to favorable conditions. Two international integration projects are close to be contracted. Supporting a diploma thesis with the title “Implementation of project management in medium sized businesses” points out the importance of project management for ask:us also in smaller companies. - 2003 - In April 2003, ask:us establishes the first branch office in Münster. The new office is located in Buddenstrasse 22 and helps to expand our business to the north and middle of Germany. Additional colleagues and freelancers serve to support this effort. ask:us now also educates IT apprentices. ask:us becomes an Entrada partner to be able to react more efficiently to security issues. - 2002 - Having finished a migration from Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 Active Directory in 26 countries, two similar projects are waiting in the wings. Additional staff members help to increase the results. - 2001 - In February 2001, ask:us moved to a new office in the city center of Karlsruhe, Akademiestrasse 38-40. The staff increased and new customers could be attracted. Dissertations at large IT conventions, e.g. at the COMPAQ User Group / DECUS helped ask:us to get known beyond the German borders. ask:us becomes DELL partner, in order to be able to provide customers with powerful hardware. Software products are placed via our partner LOGIWAY. - 2000 - ask:us “Gesellschaft für Projekt- und Managementberatung mbH” has been founded in 2000 by Jürgen Krüger and Angela Stephan. The registered office of the company is Karlsruhe. Thanks to the know-how of the two managing directors, ask:us is equipped right from the start with more than 15 years of experience in the integration of heterogeneous computer networks, mostly in large environments. In addition to this, our customers are able to benefit from our experience concerning project management, especially in large international projects. In the year of the foundation, ask:us becomes Microsoft Certified Partner.
